Traditional Honey from Cork Beehives

A honey with history and authentic character.

This rare honey comes from traditional Cortiços – round beehives made from cork oak bark – and is produced in small batches at Encosta dos Gamitos in Vila de Rei. The honeycombs are opened by hand and pressed without centrifugation or filtration, resulting in a natural, intense honey with a distinctly wild character and unmistakable origin.

Traditional. Unfiltered. Authentic to the very last drop.

In the Heart of Portugal

Tipicaria was born in a truly special place: the Museu de Geodesia in Vila de Rei, at the geographical centre of Portugal.

What began as a small Portuguese café grew from a deep connection to the region into a place celebrating authentic flavours, artisan products and local traditions.

Tipicaria brings together the essence of Central Portugal – its nature, the craftsmanship of local producers and products that truly reflect their origins.

With Origem Portugal, we want you to discover these stories and flavours beyond Portugal’s borders – authentic, regional and true to their roots.
